The March 8 show, producer by Edgar Yudkevich and directed by Kenyatta Rigmaiden, included a lead story on the investigation into the chief-of-staff of freshman congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez and a City College professor offering his thoughts on the crisis in Venezuela.
Student journalist Yakira Delgadillo was also honored for her television feature reporting and her work on a news package called “Power outages in Venezuela hurt most vulnerable.”
Students from the program were on hand to receive the awards, which was one of 17 awards given to students from the campus media organizations of San Diego City College. Awards were also given to staffs of the City Times newspaper and digital news site, Legend magazine and SDS Radio for podcasting.
